June News

Summer Holidays

Don't forget that the term ends on Thursday 2nd July at Noon. 

We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Wednesday 19th August.

Sports Day

We are going to try and run the Upper Sports Day this afternoon (18th) - weather permitting!  Please keep checking back for an updates.

We managed it!  There were a few showers to contend with, but the children did very well.  Well done to everyone.

Infants Sports Day is planned for Wednesday 24th June - fingers crossed for the weather!  We managed Infants Sports Day on the first day. 

Well done to all the children at both Sports Days..

Milk Money

Milk money is due to paid by Friday 19th June.

It is £9.13 for August - Decemeber.

Castle Toward Residential Trip

Just a reminder for next year's Primary 7, don't forget to hand in your £50 deposit by Friday 12th June.

European Election Day - Thursday 4th June

Don't forget the school will be closed on Thursday 4th June due to the elections.

The school will re-open to pupils as usual on Friday morning.

May News

Fruity Friday - 15th May

Craiglockhart will be 'going bananas' for Fruity Friday on 15th May.

Instead of last months Dress Down Day, we are asking all staff and children to wear something yellow on Friday and all donations will go to The World Cancer Research Fund.

School Photograph Orders

All children should now have received the letter from Klaklak with instuctions on how to view and order prints.

Please ensure you place all orders before the end of term.

April News

Primary 1 Intake August 2009

The school has received confirmation from the Council that the decision on Primary 1 placements will be delayed.  Parents should hear by the 15th May which school their child will be attending.  The Council are requesting that parents do not contact the Placements department unless the enquiry is essential.  This is to enable the department to focus on completing the placing.  For more information please visit the Council's website by clicking here

School Photographs

Local photorapher Klaklak will be in school on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th April to take individual pupil photographs. 

Easter Holidays

Just a reminder that the school breaks up for the Easter holidays on Friday 3rd April.  We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday 21st April

French Week

Monday 16th - Friday 20th is Craiglockhart's French week.  The children will be enjoying a range of French themed activites including a French breakfast and a French Fair.  On Friday there will be a special whole school assembly with various musical items from our excellent musicians and a special presentation by Primary 7.

Well done to all the children and staff who 'did something funny for money'

We raised an amazing £475.85!!

Additional In Service Day

It has been confirmed by City of Edinburgh Council, that there will be an additional In Service day this school year, and for the following two years.

This year's extra day will be Wednesday May 20th.  This follows the Monday holiday on the 18th and exisiting In Service day on Tuesday 19th May.

Information Evening Update

A big thank you to all the parents who attended the Curriculum for Excellence information evening.  It went very well and was full of interesting information followed by an excellent questions and answers session. Any parent wishing more information on a Curriculum for Excellence can visit their website by clicking here.

25th - Surprise Visitor!

Primary 1 and 2 had a surprise visitor this afternoon.  Having entered a competiton in Primary Times to design posters of Lazy Town, Craiglockhart was selected as the winner.  The prize was a visit from none other than Sportacus!  He ran a gymnastics event with the children which they all thoroughly enjoyed.  The posters are also on display in the foyer of The Festival Theatre. 

Well done to all the boys and girls.

24th - Welcome Back

It was wonderful to welcome all the children back to school after the February break.

Holidays

Terms ends 13th February.  We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday 24th February.
